About My Family
I was born and raised in Taiwan and came to the U.S. in 1995. I first became a hospital chaplain and later served as a Navy Reserve Chaplain beginning in 2016.
I am married with two beautiful children (John and Joy). I live in San Jose, Calif., which is a tech hub for major corporations like Apple, Google, Facebook, etc. My passion and burden is to reach out the lost by serving them and sharing God’s love with them.

About My Ministry
I have dual roles as a chaplain. I’m a chaplain in healthcare and also a chaplain in the military, which allows me to reach people in different worlds, although there is sometimes overlap. In the healthcare setting, I encounter patients and their loved ones and sometimes healthcare providers. One of the best ways to minister is to embody Christ to give them hope, peace, comfort and encouragement.
As a military chaplain, my role is somewhat shifted. It’s sort of like Old Testament prophets delivering the Word/Message of God to service members and civilian contractors in different occasions. I also provide trainings for stress management, suicide prevention, sexual assault prevention and life coaching. Personal counseling is a major area of my service in the Navy. I also advise/counsel leadership on religious matters.

SBC Chaplaincy
Chaplaincy is a "frontline" ministry that is vital to the extension of the local church. Chaplains reach the lost among the thousands of men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces, correctional facilities, healthcare settings, public safety, disaster relief sites and corporate environments. SBC Chaplains care for the broken, offer hope to the hopeless, and advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ in hard to reach places. The qualifications expected of a Southern Baptist applying for endorsement as a chaplain or counselor are established by the using agency and the Chaplains Commission, SBC. These qualification requirements vary according to the type of chaplaincy or counseling ministry involved but all are expected to meet a high level of ministerial competence. A basic qualification from the Chaplains Commission, SBC, is that an applicant is a Southern Baptist who is a member in good standing with an SBC church. Additional qualification requirements may involve certain age limits, educational background, ministry experience, physical condition, financial and credit history, citizenship eligibility for a security clearance, certification by certain national organizations, and other qualifications specific to the Using Agency or Chaplains Commission, SBC.
