About My Family

I am married to Brenda. We have five children, 10 grandchildren, eight grandsons and two granddaughters. They are a great joy in our life.

We live just outside of Calgary, Alberta, in a place called Cochrane. God spared my life last year when I contracted the coronavirus and was in the hospital for 200 days, most of that in the intensive care unit. At one point Brenda was told she needed to come and say goodbye because I was not expected to make it through the night. However, God had other plans.

Today I am known as the “miracle man” to the medical staff at Foothills Hospital, because no one in intensive care for that amount of time typically makes it out alive. Needless to say, I have a new lease on life, and I want to share Jesus with as many people in my biker community as possible.

About My Ministry

I am called to reach the biker community. There are hundreds or even thousands of bikers who wear a three-piece patch on their cut/rags living in Alberta. They are known by law enforcement as the “one percenters.” These men and women are an unreached or unforgotten demographic of people. They need to hear the gospel in a way in which they would be responsive to it.

Since I am a full patch member of the Disciple Christian Motorcycle Club, I am accepted and invited to come and meet this unreached people group on a regular basis. This gives me the opportunity to share and show the love of Jesus.

Pray

Pray for continued strength as I am continuing to recover from the effects of COVID-19. Pray that I will continue to have more opportunities to show and share the love of Jesus with people who act tough but are actually weak because they do not know Jesus. Pray for funds needed to refit my motorcycle with a trike and an automatic transmission since I can no longer operate my Harley as I once did. As you can imagine, I cannot reach out and ride with the biker community if I cannot ride my own Harley.

Pray for salvation among the one percenters, for openers and that there would be a hunger for the Word. Send notes of encouragement. It means so much when I hear from people who are supporting and praying for our ministry: ron_spidla@yahoo.com.
