About My Family

Both my wife, Kathryn, and I were born and raised in Kentucky, found in Christ at young ages and have participated, started or been involved in ministries for most of our lives. Kathryn and I became best friends our freshman year at college and, after five years of pursuing different careers and parting ways, the Lord brought us together again months after my call to ministry, New Orleans and church planting.

From my experience in teaching in impoverished communities in rural Kentucky, to Central City New Orleans, to my abroad experiences in the upper echelons of the art world, to Kathryn’s background in nonprofit management, campus ministry and rehabilitative ministries for women fleeing the sex industry, the Lord has tailored us for this city. And we, along with our three beautiful children Arlo, Georgia and Conley, love being here.

About My Church Plant

In our seven years of ministry experience here in New Orleans, we have found a few things that we hold to. The ground here is hard, so must be wise and long-term in our decisions. The city is relational, so our hospitality and ministry life rhythms must be consistent and clear. And last, attempting this with a mediocre prayer life is not an option. As leaders, we are called to execute this in the healthiest way possible so the fruits of our labor will be long-term and generationally effective.

Psalm 1 shows us that a mature, fruit-bearing Christian can be likened to a well-rooted, vibrant tree. The life of the tree comes from water nearby just as the life and health of a Christian flows from Abiding in Christ. Our name is born from the desire to see a church of mature Christians the Lord gathers, creating a “forest” of His work.

NAMB Church Planting

Millions living in North America have not been reached with the gospel. But a new church makes change possible in an unreached neighborhood.
Send Network church planters immerse themselves in a community, learning the rhythms and culture as they establish relationships with the lost. A church plant grows out of the evangelism efforts of the planter and his core team.

Pray

Pray for Kathryn and the kids. The ministry of the home is the first to come under attack, so please pray for their well-being and stamina. Pray the Lord fortifies the leaders and team with deep relationships and joy together. Pray the God would give wisdom from on high for all situations and circumstances that come this year. Pray the Lord would draw immature Christians we can disciple! Pray the Lord would use the life rhythms of the team members at the most effective ground for beginning evangelism. Pray the Lord will bring full financial support to fund the intense foundational efforts needed in the New Orleans context.
