About My Family

I was blessed to have been raised in a Christian home and have been actively involved in church my whole life. I am engaged to Jessica, and we will be married in January 2026. When that happens, our blended family will have five children named James, Jude, Sadie, Joah and Josie. Five kids of varying ages take time and an interest in many different areas. Some of those most popular ones right now are Star Wars, Marvel superheroes, video games, art, animals, as well as gymnastics, cheer and dance.

I love music and collect vinyl records. I have played the guitar since I was a teenager. I like to play golf, even though I am not that great at it. Jessica and I are both big coffee drinkers and love to try new coffee shops. I am a really big Alabama fan, so much so that I named my very spoiled golden retriever Bear.

About My Ministry

I’m an SBC-endorsed vocational healthcare chaplain serving in the Baptist Health Hospitals in Birmingham, Ala. After 16 years in church ministry, I was called into hospital chaplaincy—a path I hadn’t anticipated, but one clearly guided by God. I began a chaplaincy residency in August 2023 and later joined the Baptist Health System full-time.

Currently, I serve as the Spiritual Care Supervisor at Baptist Health Walker Hospital, one of five hospitals in our system. While our chaplains collaborate across facilities, I primarily support the ICU, adult psychiatric unit and emergency department.

I consider it an honor to be called on to walk with people during the worst and most difficult days of their lives and to be able to exemplify the love and peace of Jesus Christ.

SBC Chaplaincy

Chaplaincy is a vital frontline ministry and extension of the local church. Chaplains reach the lost among the thousands of men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces, correctional facilities, healthcare settings, public safety, disaster relief sites, and corporate environments. SBC Chaplains care for the broken, offer hope to the hopeless, and advance the gospel of Jesus Christ in hard-to-reach places.
The qualifications expected of a Southern Baptist applying for endorsement as a chaplain or counselor are established by their institution and the Chaplains Commission, SBC. These qualification requirements vary according to the type of chaplaincy or counseling ministry involved but all are expected to meet a high level of ministerial competence.

Pray

Pray for my ministry to the patients, their families, and the Baptist Health team members at our five area hospitals. Pray my ministry would point people to Jehovah Rapha, Jesus Christ, the true healer. Pray I would be a servant leader of the Spiritual Care Department at my hospital. Pray for us as Jessica and I work to merge our two families together and lead our children together.
