About My Family

I surrendered my life to Christ in 2012 while I was struggling with drug addiction and alcoholism. Jesus delivered me from 28 years of hopelessness into His glorious kingdom, and I have not looked back.

I was blessed that in 2014, my three children were baptized. In that same year, I felt the Holy Spirit calling me into ministry.

After completing my bachelor's degree in 2016, I graduated from Gateway Seminary with my M.Div. in 2020.

My wife, Laura, and I answered the call to serve the Lord in the state of Iowa. We left the cities of Southern California and came to a town of 2,000 people, where the Lord is blessing us and continuing to grow us in Him.

About My Ministry

In 2017, I began a Celebrate Recovery ministry at Hope in the Valley Baptist Church in Hemet, Calif., where I also served as the associate pastor of Care Ministries. The Lord caused growth there, and we were able to see lives changed dramatically over the next three years.

In 2020, we felt a distinct call to prison ministry and were led to Iowa where I serve as the chaplain of two institutions: Fort Dodge Correctional and North Central Correctional. I am able to share the gospel of our Lord and Savior to nearly 2,000 inmates and staff.

I am in the process of also starting Celebrate Recovery ministries at my home church of Rolling Hills Community Church in Fort Dodge and a church in my hometown of Sac City, Iowa.

SBC Chaplaincy

Chaplaincy is a vital frontline ministry and extension of the local church. Chaplains reach the lost among the thousands of men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces, correctional facilities, healthcare settings, public safety, disaster relief sites, and corporate environments. SBC Chaplains care for the broken, offer hope to the hopeless, and advance the gospel of Jesus Christ in hard-to-reach places.
The qualifications expected of a Southern Baptist applying for endorsement as a chaplain or counselor are established by the using agency and the Chaplains Commission, SBC. These qualification requirements vary according to the type of chaplaincy or counseling ministry involved but all are expected to meet a high level of ministerial competence.

Pray

Pray that the inmates and staff of Iowa Department of Corrections will receive the Word of the Lord with enthusiasm. Pray that the Lord will bring volunteers to the institutions who will help to disciple those He brings into His Kingdom. Pray that the Lord will bring those who are currently struggling with drug and alcohol addiction to the doors of the church to hear a message of hope and liberty. Pray the Lord brings leaders who can help within the church. Pray for stamina and longevity for ministry amidst attacks from the enemy.
