About My Family
Meet the Bowmans!
Amber and I grew up just a mile apart in Mount Airy, North Carolina, having no idea that God would one day unite us in marriage and ministry. Along with our two kiddos, Isaiah and Lydia, we have had the privilege of serving as church planters in Egypt and Mexico. Today, we are grateful to be planting Sojourn Church in the community that we first called home.
Our time as church planters has only deepened our conviction that God’s design for gospel advance is centered on local churches—churches that faithfully proclaim His Word, make disciples, and raise up gospel heralds who plant new churches among every people and in every place.
When we’re not serving the church, we enjoy spending time together—and keeping up with our two energetic Belgian Malinois, Java and Moka.

About My Church Plant
The most important features of Sojourn Church are those that we share in common with every other faithful, gospel-believing church.
At the same time, we believe God has given us a unique burden: to minister to the most overlooked and under-churched in our community. Surry County is home to thousands upon thousands of Spanish speakers, and yet there are very, very few churches that are capably reaching out to them with the gospel. Therefore, we are planting a bilingual church.
We pray that Sojourn Church will be known for her God-centeredness, steadfast commitment to God’s Word, joyful worship, earnest dependence upon God in prayer, supernatural community, wholehearted obedience to Christ, an unwavering commitment to making disciples amongst all peoples, and a “sojourner” mentality, having our hearts set fully on our heavenly home.

NAMB Church Planting
Millions in North America are in desperate need of hope. Ultimately, the only hope that’s going to last - in this life and the next - is the hope of the gospel. North American missionaries build relationships and share this hope in their communities and beyond.
