About My Family
After retiring from the San Antonio Police Department and becoming a full-time pastor, I thought my policing career was over. But while pastoring in Idaho, I served as a reserve deputy for the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff encouraged me to also serve as their chaplain.
After writing “Winning a Gunfight,” the Strong Blue Line ministry to law enforcement officers began. As the ministry grew, Sherry and I realized a decision needed to be made. In January of 2020, I submitted a letter of resignation to the church and stepped into missionary service.
In April of 2024, Sherry stepped away from her career as a registered nurse to work with me in the Strong Blue Line ministry. We have three children and several grandchildren.

About My Ministry
America’s law enforcement officers (LEOs) make up a thin blue line of protection between citizens and chaos. This thin blue line is under attack like never before. Officers are being assaulted and even murdered for no other reason than the uniform they wear. The average life expectancy of an American LEO is only 57.
Further, officers suffer from high rates of health and marital problems and are much more likely to die by suicide than being murdered in the line of duty. The Strong Blue Line provides LEOs valuable resources that help officers body, soul and spirit. The resources includes books, seminars, retreats and police chaplain training. At the heart of the ministry is the gospel. Our goal is to make the thin blue line a strong blue line through the power found only in the gospel.
