About My Family

Cristen and I have been married since 2002. We have four kids: Alec (2003), Isaiah (2005), Jara (2007) and Luke (2009). As you can see, that was a busy decade for us!

I am from northern Missouri, and Cristen is from outside Kansas City, but we now consider the St. Louis region home since we’ve lived here since 2005. We moved to Alton, Ill., in May of 2021 and launched Requiem Church in April of 2022.

About My Church Plant

My family was sent from August Gate Church in Belleville, Ill., where I served as the pastor of discipleship and development from 2017–2020 and completed a church planting residency in 2021. The vision of August Gate is to saturate the St. Louis region with gospel-centered, missional churches, and that is a huge part of why we’re planting Requiem Church in Alton. My prayer is that Jesus will use us as catalysts to develop a culture of intentionally gospel-centered relationships, so we can accomplish our mission and our vision.

1. Our Mission (What God is asking us to do) | Grow to know, love and follow Jesus together by His grace.
2. Our Vision (What we’re asking God to do) | Help suffering people find rest in a strong and beautiful God.

NAMB Church Planting

Millions living in North America have not been reached with the gospel. But a new church makes change possible in an unreached neighborhood.
Send Network church planters immerse themselves in a community, learning the rhythms and culture as they establish relationships with the lost. A church plant grows out of the evangelism efforts of the planter and his core team.

Pray

There are so many things we’re praying for, but I will narrow it down to just a few: (1) Please pray God will provide strong, real community for our family as we put down roots in a new city; (2) Please pray God will provide not just participants, but gospel partners who will join Requiem because they get the vision and desire to pursue Christ and His mission with us; (3) Please pray God will provide the funds necessary to accomplish all He is calling us to; (4) Please pray God will work through us to help suffering people find rest in Jesus.
