About My Family
We are Zach and Chelsea Schemmer. We have been married since November 7, 2020, and have been in Kansas City since then. We absolutely love this city, the food and the people. We have no kiddos (yet), but do have a little Corgi pup named Bernadette.
My heart is to reach those lost in the darkness of addiction and other areas of darkness through formational discipleship and intentional, family-like community. Chelsea’s heart is to reach women and children coming from places of brokenness in the same manner. Over the past several years, God has been stirring in our hearts to plant The Way Church KC.

About My Church Plant
We feel God calling us to reach those who are lost in the darkness of addiction. Chelsea and I grew up in broken homes and both fell into addiction at a young age. We are now both in long-term recovery because the illuminating light of the gospel provided us a way out. Because of this, we feel that God has uniquely equipped us to reach this specific people group. When reaching a largely unreached people group, it is important that one speaks their language and understands their culture. Chelsea and I speak the language of addiction, speak the language of recovery and have walked in their shoes.
We are planning to plant The Way Church KC in 2023. The mission of The Way Church is to Follow Jesus & Push Back Darkness Together.
